The book of Philippians is written by the apostle Paul to the church he planted in the Roman colony of Philippi. Paul wrote this letter to encourage believers (then and today), so it is filled with pastoral warmth, deep joy and genuine affection. He also wants to teach believers how to live with great joy and firm faith even when circumstances are hard.
