Esther is the only book in the Bible where God’s name is not mentioned. This can lead one to believe that God is not present. Life can feel the same for us. We can wonder if God is distant or caring or there at all.

The author of Esther crafts a beautiful narrative that reveals that God is at work even when we do not see him or give him credit. Through a series of thrilling plot twists and reversals, we see God uses ordinary people (Esther and Mordeci) to save his people. This reminds us that God’s plan of redemption is not complete yet.  We can trust this unseen God is still at work today.
